Lately my wife has shown interest to join me in my morning exercises. However, she cannot ride a bike,so I have to take her to our nearest jogging tracks at Taman Tasik Cempaka,BBB.Yesterday,we walked for almost 45minutes.It was a good exercise for both of us.From now onwards,I have earmark Wednesday morning as my morning walk in the park.Weekend is too crowded.By the way,I also ride my MTB around my neighbourhood 2 times a week.
Some time last year I mentioned to my friends about having a bike ride around the historical city of Malacca.Somehow, there were not enough people who could join. After reading Dr Azmi's posting at PER blog,I was inspired again to have a such a ride.
Today,I am very happy to ride with my fellow SDARA cyclists again and it was my first in Bangi. Thanks to Saifuddin for taking the lead and Nadim for your company. The last we rode together was when both of them and Sharin of PCM helped me to ride my first 20km in a ride on 22nd August,2008.This morning,we are back together again. The only difference was that I did not have to do TNT's(Turun N Tolak) over two hilly terrains.Saifuddin told me I had improved a lot as compared to the last ride. That made my day! And that statement made me reflect that there is no short cut to improve oneself(in sport or in bussiness etc) in whatever we are doing. We need to work hard and make sacrifices.By the way, working hard is easier than making sacrifices.I know the difference because I have done both.
A few days ago, I moved to Bandar Baru Bangi(BBB).Now,I am closer to Putrajaya by 15km and it takes me only 15minutes to go there from my home at BBB.Hopefully,I can cycle more more often in Putrajaya from now.Last weekend,I joined the PCM group and managed to cycle about 21km.This weekend(Saturday 24/10/2009 @8am), a few of my friends will join me at Putrajaya Wetland. It is going to be a slow and easy ride to get many of us back on our saddles after missing in action for more than a month( a few have stopped cycling more than two months). It is not easy to re-start.It is the inertia that keeps many of us not exercising. My experience told me that I do need a friend to pull me out from my slumber. If you are still under your blanket, just call me and I will come and pull you out.
During Ramadhan,my weight was 75kg.Now,I am not happy because due to my lack of exercise and over-eating during the Eid festival,my weight has gone up to 77kg!This is not good.By the way, todate this October,I only cycled 4 times;6 times MIA.I told myself I must catch up.My annual target is badly behind scheduled9~170km).If I don't have a 'recovery plan' to achieve my annual target,I am quite certain to fail.
Last night I was very worried that I may not be able to ride a 20km with fellow riders at PCM this morning. The reasons are:1.I did not ride even once during the last Ramadhan.2.My weight has gained 1.5kg after Ramadhan.3.For October,2009,I only rode my bike twice due to my bad coughs that lasted over 3 weeks! I am not sure whether I have the same stamina like pre-Ramadhan and the energy to keep pedalling for more than one hour.
